Greetings from the Historic Seaside Sundowner Inn!

Our approach: Tom and I regard The Historic Seaside Sundowner Inn as one big home whose doors are always wide open and this idea shapes our role as innkeepers, curators and event co-coordinators. We invite you to stay at our welcoming inn, to enjoy everything this incredibly scenic location offers and a cozy bed at the end of the day. We are delighted to be ambassadors for all that exists here :)

Historic BC Coastal Landmark: Built in 1930 to be the St. Mary's Anglican Mission Hospital serving coastal inhabitants, construction of the new St. Mary's hospital in Sechelt in 1964 saw the hospital, chapel and staff residence buildings metamorphose into the Historic Seaside Sundowner Inn. Our loving renovation focuses mainly on restoring the original character of the buildings. Enjoy the self- guided tour of the property.

Our accommodations: Each room is different- there are double, queen or king beds, some with private decks, additional sofa beds, kitchenettes, kitchens etc. All accommodations have sumptuous down duvets, pillows and feather- beds.

Salon- style Art Gallery: With the capacity to show well over two hundred pieces of art, the proud owners of the Sundowner Inn are delighted to hold open for public viewing the largest private collection of the Sunshine Coast art and to offer for sale, works by a broad spectrum of local artists.

Venice of the North: This gorgeous little coastal country inn is located on the oceanfront esplanade in the heart of the quaint waterfront village of Garden Bay on spectacular Pender Harbour on the B.C. Sunshine Coast. Imagine parking your car and forgetting about it for a few days while you swim and fish in the ocean and several warm fresh water lakes; hike and bike through our lovely forests, mossy cliffs and parks or bask on the beaches; go cruising, kayaking or diving in the bay; enjoy an ice-cream, coffee or beer at the dock; take in the lovely native plant landscape; stroll over to the cozy little local grill or the bustling pub and restaurant featuring live local music; enjoy barbequing ; cross the tidal pool foot- bridge to the village general store- all the time watching the ongoing parade of seafaring vessels in the harbour. We're happy to direct you to nearby fresh seafood, golf, horseback riding, boat rentals, fishing charters, boat and sea plane tours and to help facilitate whatever else you may desire during your visit. Fresh sea breezes and lovely water views await at the Historic Seaside Sundowner Inn.

Event & Workshop Spaces: Aside from the Chapel Annex building, there are several other spaces to hold your event- the chapel, the dining room the expansive west patio with a fire- pit- with their lovely harbour views; are perfect for your celebrations, be it weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, retreats, dinners, reunions, fundraising meetings, workshops or cultural events; with plenty of space for barbeques, caterers and bands!

Our Location: Garden Bay is a wonderfully independent self- contained community and our "Lake District" is a gorgeous place to relax and explore nature. Due to it's central location, it also affords easy access to all area attractions and provides a great jumping off point to explore the best that the Sunshine Coast has to offer!
